Oh Baby! Neutral Nursery Rooms

It seems a lot of people has baby fever. Other than celebrities and Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton {I wanna see her nursery!}, there’s a very important person in my life that’s having her second baby soon, my sister-in-law.I am so happy for her! My handsome nephew will finally have a playmate!

My friend, nursery designer extraordinaire, Sarah Stacey had given you a few weeks back on 2013’s Nursery Design Trends. Another trend that I really, really love are neutral nursery rooms. Babies going for a sophisticated look, a hue that is classic and will stand the test of time, whether your baby is two or twenty-two.

Above, a nursery in ivory on white. Clean and refreshing!

How about some taupe or natural on white with bears in matching hues?

Gray is the new neutral or the new beige. Infuse the pastel color you like; soft pinks, happy yellows, soothing blues.

White on white and other neutrals.

And this is probably my favorite, metallics like gold or silver as a neutral.

Let’s look at some more inspiration shall we?

Ivory with a hint of lavender.

The striped gray rug pulls the space together.

    Hi Maureen,

Just wondering where the grey and white rug is from as well as the grey ottoman that is on the rug?

    Thank you

  4. Normally I don’t read post on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very pressured me to check out and do so! Your writing taste has been amazed me. Thanks, quite nice article.

  5. Thank you for the color suggestions! Those are both great hues. It’s so hard to pick from the thousands of “neutral” colors. My friend will be thrilled to have these. I’m going to keep them in mind for future projects as well.

    Thank you, again!

  6. These neutral nurseries are clean, crisp & relaxing! Mind letting me know the paint color on the first two? A dear friend is getting ready to welcome her 5th baby this summer & this is her color scheme. But she’s looking for the perfect beige/taupe for the wall.

    Love your site!
    Cheers!!!
    Liz
