STUDY BLUES
From idea to creation, here's how we do it....
The task: Design this empty space at this gorgeous Garden District home into a cozy study where the whole family can get together & entertain guests as well.
Space planning ideas:
1/ Flip the floor-to-ceiling bookcases facing the dining room to the study.
2/ Add another floor-to-ceiling bookcase elsewhere in the space.
3/ Have a lounge space for the grown-ups.
4/ Have a study/sitting area for the kiddos.
Design Ideas:
1/ Keep architectural details but modernize it a tad -- the woman of the house has a modern sensibility.
2/ Coffered ceiling perhaps to make the space feel more intimate?
3/ Change up the fireplace --- cement look vs Pennsylvania bluestone.
4/ Blue everywhere --- the client just purchased the Blue modern art.
5/ Add some fun colors & patterns for the kids.
